A Scary World

Yes. The end times are coming.
Yes. It is a scary world.
Also, I witnessed something today that reaffirmed my faith and trust in God.

We (the YFers) wanted to have dinner at the West Coast hawker. But apparently a fight broke out (unsure of the details) between some people, and the ruckus was bad enough for bystanders to flee from the place immediately. I noticed that some of us were pretty shaken, I was too. It's not everyday that we get to see and hear a fight (with glass bottles being smashed, and screams heard).

You know something? This event may be miniscule compared to the recent train bombings in London, but for something unusual to take place right in our own backyard can seem pretty scary.

But to tell ya the truth, I stopped being scared. I know that even if I were to die, I’ll be in heaven with the Lord. And as a Christian, I know that such bad events will take place from time to time. There isn’t a need to be afraid of anything, ever again, when you put your faith and trust in the Lord (apart from fearing the Lord, and also to suffer eternal damnation). The best thing to do now would be to pray for the people around us, to tell them that they shouldn’t be afraid of anything that will happen, or that will even change their lives.

Because God sent Jesus to die on a cross for our sins, so that we may live eternally.

Fear just makes it easier for Satan to meddle with our lives. Would you want to be hindered by fear all the time, and not being able to do what you want to do? I guess not.

But you know, once you believe in Jesus, everything changes. Fear just dissipates when you trust your entire life in His hands, because you know that ultimately, He has chosen the right and best plan for you.

By the way, I wrote a poem/song, and it goes out to everyone who has ever been scared in his or her lives.

Fear not the terror that may strike
Fear not the blood that is shed
Believe in God’s power and might

Fear not the strife that is arising

Fear not fear that keeps coming
For God has saved you and me
